How to Care for Emerald rings & Emerald Jewelry.

When considering a quality emerald,  DON'T BE CONFUSED:

A deep-green and dull emerald is actually a very cheap stone and if the stone has carbon spots, it is the cheapest of emeralds. The Colombian miners call these kind of stones MURRALLA which means the waste of the emerald. The real value of all gemstones is the brightness and brilliance of green fire inside the stone. Clarity and cut is also very important in considering a quality emerald.
Our years of experience have shown there is not flawless or perfect emerald. Anyone offering a flawless, perfect emerald is either not knowledgeable in emeralds or worst is being deceptive.
We guarantee the natural color and brightness of each hand picked stone in our collection. These precious gemstones will never change and their remarkable beauty will be appreciated from many generations to come.

Care for Emeralds: We guarantee the quality materials and workmanship of all our emerald jewelry. Our lifetime designs will last longer only if you wear and take care of them properly. It means not only taking caution and common sense when wearing emerald jewelry but making sure it is cleaned, repaired and stored in a proper manner. These tips are useful for our emerald jewelry and all fine jewelry.
Caring for jewelry starts with proper wear; it means knowing when to put on your jewelry and when to take it off. Put jewelry on after applying makeup, body lotion, perfume and hairspray. Avoid touching emeralds or precious stones directly with your hands because skin oil dulls their appearance. Remove your emerald jewelry if you're going to practice sports, do any manual labor like gardening, painting or chores at home. Rings or bracelets can be easily broken or bent if they catch on a hook or fabric. Emeralds even diamonds, can chip or crack if they're knocked against a hard surface. If you wear earrings, it's usually best to remove them while you are sleeping or having your hair styled, in this way the hair brush or bed clothing's thread will not catch them.

Dirt buildup may hasten the wear of your jewelry. Visit your local jeweler at least once a year to have your fine jewelry professionally cleaned. In addition, your jeweler can spot any worn prongs, loose stones, faulty clasps or other potential problems to fix them before they become a serious problem.

Also you can to clean your emerald jewelry at home, it can be left over night in water and any grease remover soap at room temperature; the next day rinse the piece with warm water (not hot), brush it repeatedly (use a soft toothbrush) on the emerald's underside and around the prongs to loosen dirt and grease. It is a cheap and safe procedure only if you bought your emerald jewelry from EMERALDSANDJEWELRY.COM because we know what quality of emeralds we are selling.

We normally clean our emerald jewelry using ultrasonic and steamer machines, of course keeping in mind that emeralds do not bear high temperatures. We never use acetone or other chemical substances during the cleaning process
Jewelry is vulnerable while it's being worn, but it can also suffer damage if it is not stored properly. Diamond is the hardest precious stone but it does not mean it is free of accidental scratches.
Diamond jewelry can also scratch softer stones like emeralds as well as gold and even platinum; for this reason, it's important to wrap individual pieces in tissue or put them in separate compartments in a jewelry box so the pieces do not come in contact with each other.
